Like Comment
An anonymous survey was posted on HS Facebook groups by group administrators February-March 2020. Participants were asked to self-report Hurley stage (based on text descriptions), select symptoms from a list that they believed characterized HS flare, and then select their most defining flare symptom. Significant findings (p<0.05) from Pearson's Chi-squared and Fisher's exact tests were further evaluated using independent proportions tests (RStudio version1.2.5019, Boston, MA). Race was grouped into white and nonwhite for analysis. This study was deemed exempt by University of Arizona's institutional review board.
