OnMedica strives to provide its members with editorial content that meets the highest editorial and journalistic standards, focusing on fairness, accuracy, independence, transparency, and objectivity. OnMedica’s editorial content, including news, features, and reference, is developed independently of the advertising and promotional content available on OnMedica, all of which is clearly labelled as such.
OnMedica editorial content
The OnMedica editorial team produces a range of news, reference and educational content in collaboration with trusted experts in their fields from clinicians and journalists to thought leaders and industry experts. This content is produced independently, and collaborators must disclose any conflict of interests.
OnMedica encourages members to comment and collaborate and therefore provides a range of opportunities for members to share their experts views and insights on the platform and to actively engage with other members. These highly valued contributions are easily identifiable on the site by their badge.
OnMedica does not undertake to monitor the submission of such content to, or the publication of such content on, the website. Member contributions are self-moderated and are the sole responsibility of their authors and the authors are legally responsible for what they submit. The views and opinions expressed in member contributions are those of the authors. It is the reader’s responsibility to verify their own facts.
Third-party editorial content
OnMedica publishes third-party editorial content, reproduced with permission or licensed for use on OnMedica. The editorial team carefully and independently selects these pieces with the aim to enhance OnMedica members’ knowledge on particular healthcare topics and encourage reflection and discussions within the OnMedica community. Any views expressed are that of its authors, not necessarily OnMedica, and each piece of content bears due credit.
Content that has external sponsorship is clearly identified as such. The sponsor has limited involvement in the development of the content but brings its expertise in a specific domain to ensure high quality content. The OnMedica editorial team ensures the published content adheres to the same editorial principles as non-sponsored content.
Promotional content is clearly identified as such. Such content will link to promotional and/or educational presentations or websites to inform you of events, services, products or updates from organisations such as pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies, financial services companies, medical indemnity organisations, Royal Colleges, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), the General Medical Council (GMC), the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), other government bodies, NHS trusts, and medical schools. Specifically, this may also include promotional materials including prescription-only pharmaceutical medicines. Such content follows industry standard regulations, including the British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry.
