A patient in Northern Ireland has been hospitalised with suspected rabies.
The patient who has been admitted to Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital is believed to have contracted the disease while abroad several months ago and has felt unwell for some time.
If the case is confirmed, as it is expected to be, this afternoon, it will be Northern Ireland’s first case of rabies in 70 years.
